SPEAKER:

Ambassador Milica Pejanović-Đurišić

Ambassador Milica Pejanović-Đurišić served as the Permanent Representative of Montenegro to the United Nations from May 2018 to July 2021. Prior to this, she was the Minister of Defense in the Government of Montenegro from March 2012 to November 2016, playing a leading role in Montenegro’s NATO accession process. Her current engagements include participation in the Mediterranean Women Mediators Network and serving on the steering committees of various cybersecurity-related conferences and initiatives. She is a member of the Governance Board of the Atlantic Council of Montenegro and the founder of its Digital Forensic Lab.

With a PhD in Telecommunication Engineering, Prof. Pejanović-Đurišić continues her academic career as a full professor in Telecommunications and Wireless Communications at the University of Montenegro’s Faculty of Electrical Engineering, where she also founded and directs the Research Centre for ICT. Her role in advancing Montenegro’s digital transformation has been widely recognized, particularly through initiatives focused on the development of info-communication infrastructures. She has also served as President of the Board of “Telekom Montenegro” (1999-2002) and the first Montenegrin Internet provider (2001-2002). Prof. Pejanović-Đurišić has been a consultant in ICT fields, working with the European Commission, ITU, and other global organizations
