The Real Deal: U.S. – China Economic Relations in Geopolitical Context

Markus Jaeger is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Columbia University and an adjunct instructor at New York University.

Previously, he was a Director at Deutsche Bank Research in New York, where he was responsible for emerging markets economic and political risk research. He also has extensive experience covering the US economy and financial markets as well as the euro area. His present research focuses on the emerging markets – with a special focus on Brazil and China. Markus started his professional career as a sovereign risk analyst in the City of London covering the Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa region, and Latin America. Markus also held visiting fellowships at the European University Institute (EUI) in Italy and the Institute of Political Economy Studies (IEPE/ CDG) in Brazil.

He attended Sciences Po and holds a MSc and PhD from the London School of Economics.
