Israel’s Strategy in a Shifting Middle East
Virtual Briefing Series
Monday, June 30th, 2025 | 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM ET
What began as a diplomatic attempt to manage Iran’s nuclear ambitions quickly escalated when, on June 12, Israel launched airstrikes targeting Iranian nuclear facilities and key military leaders, kicking off a period of open war between Israel and Iran. Though a fragile ceasefire was announced not long after President Trump authorized strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites, the durability of the ceasefire remains in question.
Has Israel achieved what it set out to do? How might this war—and a possible peace—reshape the Middle East’s security and America’s role in it? Join us on Monday, June 30, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM ET for a discussion joined by Dr. Michael Koplow, Chief Policy Officer of Israel Policy Forum, on the strategy and aims behind Israel’s military campaigns in Iran and the crucial role of U.S. involvement in shaping the conflict’s outcome.
