Lisa Shields

Lisa Shields is Vice President for Global Communications and Media Relations at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), the country’s leading nonpartisan foreign policy think tank, membership organization, and publisher of Foreign Affairs magazine. Shields has additionally advised a broad range of public intellectuals, advocates, and artists, crafting media and marketing strategies in the fields of foreign and domestic policymaking, international economics and finance, and philanthropy.

Prior to joining CFR, Shields worked as a journalist and editorial producer for ABC News, Thirteen/WNET, and the A&E Network. She earned her bachelor’s degree in international affairs from the American University of Paris and her master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.
