Elizabeth Radin has 15 years of experience designing, implementing and conducting research to improve global health policies and programs. As a researcher and practitioner, she takes a multi-disciplinary approach to understanding and addressing inequalities in health, particularly in resource-limited settings. Dr. Radin currently serves as a Technical Director at ICAP, where she oversees Population-based HIV Impact Assessment (PHIA) surveys in 14 countries, primarily in Africa. Carried out under the leadership of the Ministries of Health, these surveys aim to benchmark the country’s progress towards controlling the AIDS epidemic and inform targeted policies and programs. Her prior research developed a mixed-methods approach to understanding how and why some social groups systematically derive greater benefit from available public health resources.
She piloted this method in the context of Maternal and Child Health in Northern Vietnam. Dr. Radin has served as a consultant to the World Bank, a Research Officer at Oxford and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and has led country programs for the Clinton Health Access Initiative in Cameroon and Indonesia.
