Aidan Serna is a political science and sustainable development senior at Columbia University. With interests in open-border immigration policies, critiques of American counterinsurgencies, and domestic political media, Aidan seeks to analyze and better the United States’ impact on a global scale. His studies in Spain, Morocco, Germany, and New Mexico focus on regions of cultural intersection and strategies for mitigating inevitable conflicts. Aidan has worked under U.S. Representative Teresa Leger Fernandez, contributing to legislative research and advocating for New Mexicans. He has also served as a writing consultant for a community-based startup and as a researcher for Columbia University’s Undergraduate Committee on Global Thought. In the future, Aidan hopes to work in global conflict zones, promoting U.S. interests abroad through humanitarian and ethical engagement.
